The intention of fasting and prayer is to transform the earthly qualities into higher qualities, and to discover the essence of humanity within, and becoming knowlegeable of the essence of self, adoorway to understanding the Divine, as
" whoever knows one's self, knows one's god " and "whoever purifies one's self for thierty days, the spring of knowlege will flow from his heart on to this tongue "
